A série "Game of Thrones" e a minissérie "Fargo" lideram a disputa da edição 2014 do Emmy, que anunciou seus indicados nesta quinta-feira (10). O programa da HBO concorre em 19 categorias e o do FX, em 18. Eles são seguidos de perto por "American Horror Story", com 17.

A HBO foi a emissora que mais se destacou, com 99 indicações, de acordo com a revista "Variety". O Netflix também se saiu bem, com 31 - incluindo as de melhor comédia e melhor drama para "Orange is the New Black" e "House of Cards", respectivamente.

O anúncio da 66ª edição do Emmy foi feito ao vivo pela atriz Mindy Kaling, da série "The Mindy Project", e pelo apresentador Carson Daly, do "The Voice" e do "Today". A apresentação aconteceu no Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre, em Hollywood.

A premiação será realizada no dia 25 de agosto, no Kodak Theatre, em Los Angeles. Seth Meyers será o apresentador da cerimônia. No dia 16, acontece o Creative Emmy Awards, que entrega os prêmios das categorias técnicas.

Destaques

"Breaking Bad", encerrada em setembro de 2013 e que levou o prêmio de melhor série de drama no ano passado obteve 16 indicações, incluindo as categorias de melhor série dramática e melhor ator (Bryan Cranston). O filme para televisão "The Normal Heart", exibido pela HBO, ficou com o mesmo número.

Atrás dos dois, ficaram os seguintes programas: "Saturday Night Live", com 14 indicações; a série do Netflix "House of Cards", com 13; e "Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey", "Downton Abbey", "Orange Is the New Black", "Sherlock: His Last Vow" e "True Detective", com 12.

"True Detective" e "Orange", aliás, estrearam no Emmy bem cotadas. O drama da HBO conquistou indicações para seus dois protagonistas, Matthew McConaughey e Woody Harrelson, enquanto a atração do Netflix conquistou indicações para sua protagonista, Taylor Schilling, e para mais quatro de suas atrizes. Pela série, a atriz Jodie Foster também foi indicada como diretora, pelo episódio que comandou na primeira temporada. 

A ausência mais sentida foi a da atriz Sofia Vergara, que ficou de fora da categoria de melhor atriz coadjuvante em comédia, para a qual havia sido indicada quatro vezes seguidas.
