| 19/09/2005 - 00h22 Filme sobre Peter Sellers bate séries de TV no Emmy 2005; veja os vencedores MANOELA PEREIRA Editora do UOL Televisão Nenhuma série de TV se deu tão bem no Emmy 2005 quanto um filme. "The Life and Death of Peter Sellers" ("A Vida e a Morte de Peter Sellers"), produção da HBO, faturou nove estatuetas na principal premiação da TV norte-americana, que este ano chegou à sua 57ª edição.
Dirigido por Stephen Hopkins, que recebeu o prêmio de melhor diretor, "The Life and Death of Peter Sellers" foi feito para a televisão e não deve ser lançado nos cinemas. O filme conta a trajetória do comediante Peter Sellers, ator que ficou extremamente conhecido pelo personagem Inspetor Clouseau, da série de filmes "Pantera Cor-de-Rosa". O ator Geoffrey Rush (foto), que interpretou Sellers na produção, também faturou a estatueta, a primeira de sua carreira.
A série dramática "Lost", que no Brasil é exibida pelo canal pago AXN, levou o Emmy de melhor série de TV, assim como a comédia "Everybody Loves Raymond", que se despede da premiação com três estatuetas. "Everybody Loves Raymond" está fora da entrega do Emmy em 2006 porque deixou de ser produzida no semestre passado, após nove anos no ar.
A ausência na premiação de séries como "Sex and the City", "Friends", "Família Soprano" e "The West Wing" acabou abrindo espaço este ano para atrizes que nunca tinham vencido a disputa pelo prêmio de melhor atuação. Felicity Huffman, de "Desperate Housewives", e Patricia Arquette, de "Medium", série ainda inédita no Brasil, receberam pela primeira vez na carreira os Emmys de melhor atriz em comédia e drama, respectivamente. Já o ator Tony Shalhoub, protagonista de "Monk", venceu novamente na categoria Melhor Ator de Comédia, prêmio que ele já tinha faturado em 2003, quando a série entrou na competição.
O jornalista Peter Jennings, morto em agosto de 2005 após uma dura batalha contra um câncer, foi homenageado durante a cerimônia pelos âncoras Tom Brokaw (NBC) e Dan Rather (CBS), os dois maiores concorrentes de Jennings na televisão.
A 57ª cerimônia do Emmy foi apresentada pela atriz Ellen DeGeneres, que em vários momentos da festa lembrou que o público poderia fazer doações por telefone em prol das vítimas do furacão Katrina. Ellen DeGeneres foi criada em Nova Orleans, cidade mais atiginda pelo furacão.
