As novas séries de TV "True Detective", um drama policial da HBO, e "Orange is the New Black", uma comédia numa prisão, da Netflix, acumularam uma dúzia de indicações ao Emmy cada uma nesta quinta-feira (10), desafiando as reconhecidas "Breaking Bad" e "Modern Family".

A empresa de transmissão online Netflix mais do que duplicou as suas candidaturas para os maiores prêmios da TV em relação ao ??ano passado, chegando a 31 indicações, tendo o thriller político "House of Cards" lembrado em 13 categorias.

O épico da HBO "Game of Thrones" liderou as indicações, com 19, e empurrou o total da rede de TV a cabo para 99, mantendo a liderança da HBO pelo 14º ano consecutivo.

Enquanto as transmissões a cabo e online tiveram um bom desempenho, as redes de televisão ficaram de fora da principal competição: a de melhor drama. A história do mundo das drogas "Breaking Bad" vai competir na categoria com sua última temporada, junto com "Mad Men", "House of Cards", e o drama de época britânico "Downton Abbey", além de "Game of Thrones" e "True Detective".

"True Detective", sobre uma onda de crimes sádicos na zona rural de Louisiana, recebeu indicações por melhor ator tanto para Matthew McConaughey como para Woody Harrelson, algumas das maiores estrelas do cinema que agora entram para a próspera indústria da televisão.

A minissérie "Fargo", baseada no filme cult dos irmãos Coen e estrelada por Billy Bob Thornton e Martin Freeman, contabilizou 18 indicações, incluindo melhor ator.

Na categoria de filme de TV, a série da HBO "The Normal Heart", baseada na história verídica de um ativista da Aids em Nova York, ganhou 16 indicações, incluindo a de melhor ator para Mark Ruffalo.
