A 66ª edição do Emmy Awards, que elege as melhores séries, minisséries e telefilmes da televisão americana, acontece nesta segunda-feira (25) em Los Angeles. No Brasil, a cerimônia será exibida pelo canal Warner a partir das 20h30.

A cerimônia terá uma homenagem ao ator Robin Williams, morto aos 62 anos no último dia 11. Consagrado por sua carreira no cinema, Williams também se destacou na TV, tendo recebido nove indicações ao Emmy e levado a estatueta em duas ocasiões.

Em 2013, Williams protagonizou a série "The Crazy Ones", que durou apenas uma temporada. O ator Billy Crystal será responsável por conduzir o tributo que terá participação da cantora e pianista Sara Bareilles.

Disputa de melhor série dramática tem "Game of Thrones", "Breaking Bad" e "True Detective"

Indicada em 19 categorias, "Game of Thrones", que teve uma quarta temporada cheia de acontecimentos inesperados e atuações memoráveis de Peter Dinklage, é a favorita ao prêmio na categoria de melhor série dramática. "Breaking Bad", encerrada em setembro de 2013 e responsável por deixar milhares de fãs órfãos, também tem chances.

No páreo está ainda "True Detective", cuja primeira temporada teve ótima recepção endossada pelas interpretações de Matthew McConaughey e Woody Harrelson.  Correm por fora o drama de época "Dowton Abbey", a premiada "Mad Men" e o hit político "House of Cards", do Netflix.

Novata "Orange is The New Black" pode desbancar hegemonia de "Modern Family"

Entre as comédias, "Orange is The New Black" foi o nome que mais apareceu nas apostas das revistas e sites americanos. Vencedora de três categorias no Creative Arts, que premia as categorias técnicas, a série do Netflix ameaça o reinado de "Modern Family", vitoriosa das quatro últimas edições do Emmy.

Com os salários do trio protagonista elevados para US$ 1 mi por episódio, "The Big Bang Theory" é a série de maior audiência da atualidade nos Estados Unidos e também pode levar a estatueta. As outras indicadas da categoria são "Louie", "Veep" e "Silicon Valley".

O Emmy 2014 terá apresentação do comediante Seth Mayers. Julia Roberts, Matthew McConaughey e Bryan Craston estão entre os astros que subirão ao palco para anunciar os vencedores.
