Com 17 indicações cada, a série "Mad Men" e minissérie "American Horror Story" são favoritas na disputa do 64º Emmy, o Oscar da TV americana. A Academia de Artes e Ciências da Televisão anunciou os indicados nesta quinta (19), às 9h40. A noite da premiação, que terá como anfitrião o comediante Jimmy Kimmel, será no dia 23 de setembro.

"Mad Men" explora o sofisticado mundo da publicidade nos anos 1960 e, por pouco, não foi cancelada antes da quinta temporada. A série figura nas nove categorias relacionadas a séries dramáticas.

Entre os indicados por "Mad Men", estão Jon Hamm, como melhor ator; Elisabeth Moss como melhor atriz, Jared Harris como melhor ator coadjuvante, e Christina Hendricks como melhor atriz coadjuvante.

"American Horror Story", que será ambientada em um hospício dos anos 1960 quando estrear sua segunda temporada no FX, foi indicada a melhor minissérie ou filme para a TV, melhor atriz (Connie Britton), melhor ator coadjuvante (Denis O'Hare) e duas para melhor atriz coadjuvante (Frances Conroy and Jessica Lange.)

"American Idol", pilar da indústria da música nos Estados Unidos ao longo de suas 11 temporadas, ficou de fora da disputa de melhor reality show em um momento conturbado após a saída dos juízes Jennifer Lopez e Steven Tyler. Mas Ryan Seacrest foi indicado na categoria melhor apresentador de reality show ou programa de competição.

A vencedora de 2012, "Modern Family", é a comédia com mais indicações, 14 no total, sendo quatro de melhor ator coadjuvante.

O apresentador Jimmy Kimmel, do talk show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, e a atriz Kerry Washington, da série "Scandal", anunciaram os indicados deste ano ao Oscar da TV. Kimmel fez graça subindo ao palco usando um pijama, já que o anuncio foi feito às 5h40 de Los Angeles.

Em 2012, o Emmy realiza sua 64ª edição, escolhendo as melhores produções televisivas em categorias como animação, dublagem, direção de arte, elenco, seriado, minissérie, não-ficção e reality show.

A premiação acontece no dia 23 de setembro, e será apresentado pelo mesmo Jimmy Kimmel. O canal Warner Channel vai exibir ao vivo de Los Angeles, a partir das 20h (horário de Brasília) com cobertura do tapete vermelho e, às 21h, a cerimônia de premiação.
